College & Career Readiness @ The U school

College & Career Awareness / Habits of Success
 The U  School Guidance  integrates the  National  Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC)  CURRICULUM WHICH provides Step-By-Step College Awareness and Planning and Naviance  ONLINE SOFTWARE   for the College & Career (CCA) and   Habits of Success (HOS) curriculum.    HOS activities support student competency in the following domains: Growth Mindset, Self-Regulation, Decision Making, Work and Time Management, Social Skills Awareness. (ASCA National Student Standards)

When &  Where

All students work inside the Possi classroom which is a 40 minute advisory period.  Junior and Seniors are rostered to a College Career Readiness 60 minute period with the School Counselor each week.  All students  use the Guidance Google Classroom based on the grade cohort, ie Cohorts 1, 2, 3 , 4 and 5.  Students are able to work on assignments while in class and/or anytime using any device.

How

Why

All students must have options after high school.  The U School provides all students the opportunity to explore college and career options using research-based curriculum and instruments based on American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Student Standards.

  • Step Into College Conference - Friday, March 11 University of the Sciences leaving school @ 9 am 
  • Aviation Institute of Maintenance - Thursday, March 31 - leaving school @ 9 am
  • Drexel University - Friday, April 8 - leaving school at 12 noon (Rescheduled due to Villanova Parade - details to be announced)
  • Orleans Institute  - Thursday, April 14 - leaving school @ 9 am
  • Arcadia University - Friday, April 15 - leaving school @ 9 am
  • Philadelphia University - Thursday,  April 21 - leaving school @ 9 am
  • Art Institute of Philadelphia, April 27 leaving school @ 9 am
  • University of Pennsylvania - Monday, May 2 - leaving school at 11 am
  • Temple University  - Tuesday, May 10 - leaving school @ 10 am
  • Drexel University - Wednesday, May 18 - leaving school @ 12 n.  Our final trip!!
