The U School, INC

The U School, Inc. is a non-profit corporation and shall be operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.
The U School Inc. purpose is to support the mission of The U School, which is a public district high school in Philadelphia. The U School prepares youth for college and careers by supporting students to accept challenges and opportunities through: student agency, real-world problem solving, developing, high-quality competency based products and engage in student-centered learning.

This includes and is not limited to:
  1. Promotion of the successes of the learning model
  2. Enhancing teachers through professional development
  3. Fundraising for supporting educational endeavors
  4. Acquisition of equipment, materials and supplies to support the academic and CTE programming
  5. Issuing scholarships to graduates to pursue post-secondary learning
  6. Supporting and managing internship or summer learning opportunities
  7. Collaboration with local businesses, organizations, neighborhood associations, CDCs, religious institutions
  8. Supporting Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming development
  9. Sponsoring learning events to highlight the school model and products of stakeholders
  10. Reimbursement for services rendered for furthering the mission of the organization with individuals or partner institutions
