WHERE IS THE U SCHOOL?
The U School will be located at 2000 N. 7th Street (7th and Norris) at the Ferguson site. The U School will co-locate the site with Building 21.
WHO CAN JOIN THE U SCHOOL?
If you are a current 8th grader in Philadelphia, you can join The U School. There are no admissions criteria. All are welcome, regardless of academic or behavioral backgrounds.
HOW CAN I JOIN?
All interested students should complete a simple application form. The application window opens March 24th and closes April 25th 2014. If you are currently a student in The School District of Philadelphia, you can apply online through your student portal (StudentNet) during the application window at home or with your school counselor. If you are not currently a student in the District (in a charter, cyber, parochial, private or independent school), you will complete an online application form by following the link below.

WHAT IS THE ENROLLMENT PLAN?
Students will enroll through a blind lottery: 50% of students will come from the surrounding zip codes of the school, and 50% of students will come from all other Philadelphia zip codes. The eleven zip codes surrounding the school are: 19120, 19121, 19122, 19123, 19124 19125, 19130, 19132, 19133, 19134, 19140. In the fall of 2014, 115 ninth graders will enroll, and each year the school will "grow a grade" to reach a maximum of 450 students total.
WHAT DATES SHOULD I BE AWARE OF?
MARCH 24TH: Application opens for three new school modelsMARCH 26TH: Open House at District central office (440 N. Broad Street) from 6-8 pm in room 1075.
APRIL 9TH: Community Open House at the APM Hall (2319 N. 7th Street) from 6-8 pm.
APRIL 11TH: Townhall Meeting at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church (2800 W. Cheltenham Ave) from 5-8 pm
APRIL 25TH: Application closes for three new school models
Week of JUNE 9TH: Final notifications for new schools sent to students/families
