Design-Thinking + The Design Process
Design-thinking
The U School exists to help people dream. We want to dream with students, because we hope to tap into the creativity and imagination found there, and harness those visionary thoughts and ideas, and make them part of solutions to problems of today. Thinking about how to make solutions is difficult, and requires practice.
The world desperately needs more empathetic problem-solvers. The U School seeded the design process at the core of the institution to help guide students and educators through inquiry and change. How we DO influences our ability to affect how we change and grow. Our core values are aligned to the process.

The Design Process
Learning is a process. All learners (youth and adults) need processes to organize their efforts. The design process offers many opportunities to frame deep learning while reinforcing the key individual developments.
Designers use the process to reinvent, reinvigorate and rebuild systems, products and opportunities for themselves and their communities. Embedded in the practiced skillsets of designers are the seeds for changemakers of tomorrow.
